Apple has officially extended invitations for its annual fall hardware showcase.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. PT. Carrying the tagline “Surprise and shine,” the keynote will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater inside Apple Park.
This year’s event carries extra weight as it marks the first major keynote helmed by John Ternus. He stepped into the CEO role following Tim Cook’s transition.
Reports also suggest Apple is shifting its product release calendar. The September keynote will focus strictly on high-end flagship gear and all-new categories. Meanwhile, standard consumer devices like the base iPhone 18 will be pushed to early 2027.
Apple’s First Foldable iPhone
The biggest hardware surprise expected at the event is Apple’s entry into the foldable market, reportedly with the iPhone Ultra.
Chain leaks describe a short, wide “passport-style” fold iPhone. It is expected to feature a 5.5-inch outer screen and a 7.8-inch inner display. It will utilize liquid metal hinges and ultra-thin glass to eliminate the center crease. Many leaks suggest that this iPhone will be the first crease free foldable phone. Instead of Face ID, leaks suggest Touch ID will return integrated in the power button.
iPhone Ultra is expected to carry a heavy price tag between $2,000 and $2,200.
iPhone 18 Pro & iPhone 18 Pro Max
For people wanting a traditional glass-and-titanium flagship, Apple’s Pro series will see major overhauls.
The primary 48MP sensor on the Pro Max is rumored to feature a mechanical variable aperture. This will allow superior low-light performance and hardware-level depth of field adjustments.
Driven by the 2nm A20 Pro processor, coupled with Apple’s C2 5G modem and expanded satellite connectivity. This year new colors are Dark Cherry and a soft Light Blue finish.
Due to surging memory component costs driven by AI, entry prices could rise by $100–$200. These could start at $1,299 for the Pro and $1,399–$1,449 for the Pro Max.
Apple Watch Series 12 & Apple Watch Ultra 4
Apple Watch Series 12 is rumored to mark the return of a white ceramic chassis option. It will also include updated health sensors and watchOS 27 features.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 is expected to receive a minor processor upgrade. Additionally, it will get enhanced micro-LED display efficiency and improved satellite emergency messaging.
